So you may decide you want to access the office from home, or perhaps an employee out on the road needs to access the office machines. Remote Access is one of the ways this can be achieved. 19 Computing can provide remote access to be installed.
We can also setup a VPN which is normally used by organizations that have multiple sites so that other sites can access the same network at a central location – for example Site 2 may need to access the servers to pull up data that are located at Site 1. Site 2 will just logon to the VPN in order to achieve this.
Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services
We can also setup office environments based on a terminal services setup. A terminal services setup is where everyone operates from a server and each physical machine is simply just a basic gateway to the server itself. There are many advantages of using a setup like this but the main one being that it can often save money due to the software only being installed on one machine but being accessed by many. The other advantage is that every user in the organisation can access their terminal session from any computer (and even access it from outside via WAN if this is set up)
